Week 14 Injury Implications takes on a different meaning for some this week. Hopefully your team is sitting comfortably with a bye week for winning your leagues regular season. Also sitting in a good spot are those with playoff games vs any of the Saints from Thursday night.  Unfortunately for me, Kareem Hunt and Michael Crabtree sealed my fate as I finished 8th in my 14 team champions league.  My team had real potential  starting out 6-2. Then came the Jameis Winston injuries and Dak debacles. Had me remembering why I like DFS so much more.  Below are 3 of the top fantasy injury implications for Week 14. Players highlighted in red have been declared out.  For a full game by game breakdown click this link to listen to The Coach and Cole Show Week 14.

Giovani Bernard RB (3100 DK 5100 FD) This is the obvious value on the slate. RB Joe Mixon has already been ruled out with a concussion. Jeremy Hill has been out for weeks. Expect the very good pass catching back Bernard to be the workhorse vs the Bears.  The Bears continue to fall apart missing critical pieces on defense. Lineman Mitch Unrein is now out for the season, DE Leonard Floyd has been out. Also missing practice this week were DT Eddie Goldman, LB Pernell Mcphee, and S Adrian Amos. Fills-in include 2nd year players Jonathan Bullard and Roy Robertson-Harris . Giovanni Bernard’s 69% snap count will be even higher and at near bare minimum salary his ownership will be just as high. Ownership wont matter, using him as your free spot will help you get to whatever lineup you want.

Theo Riddick RB (4500 DK 5600 FD) Price seems a little high but it can be the perfect pivot from Bernard. Theo is now the main back, in an offense that wants to run. Ameer Abdullah’s neck injury and concussion could see him miss again. One could argue that before the Abdullah injury Theo should have been utilized more. Theo regularly catches 5 balls out of the backfield, but he deserves more. This week Matthew Stafford is clearly not 100% .The hand injury is very concerning, I would expect him to throw a lot more check down throws. The Buccaneers defense have enough problems (allow 8th most fantasy points to RBs) and could be missing safety T.J. Ward and DT Clint McDonald. Theo is never high owned and with the other options on this slate he will get overlooked again.  A few extra snaps will help him hit value. If he scores a touchdown or 2 look out, this could be the GPP gem you need for Week 14.

Stephen Anderson TE (3200 DK 4500 FD) 6’3 230 lbs, long and fast wide receiver type. Last week he was outstanding with 5 catches for 79 yards and a touchdown on 12 targets. Losing both tight ends Ryan Griffin and CJ. Fiedorwicz gives Anderson an opportunity to continue to shine.  WR Bruce Elligton was also placed on IR. The Niners defense is bad. But there offense looked a lot better with Jimmy Garoppolo.  Sets up for a nice back and forth game making WR Deandre Hopkins and RB Lamar Miller also good plays. These 3 will be their entire offense. WR Will Fuller is back with the team but should be limited coming off of injury. Anderson played 84% of the snaps last week, Mr. Savage please keep throwing passes his way.
