It’s Week 3 and I finally feel its safe to test the waters. Sports gambling is all about timing. Just knowing when a game plays can be half the battle. We got an early one this week and its one of the locks I will give out. Each week I will provide plenty locks for you to bang your book. I will spotlight the games that jump out at me from either NFL or NCAA. Lines are something I monitor closely, to stay up to the minute on lines, news, and injuries follow me on twitter @littledannydogs. For the picks below I will use current and open odds from Sports Alerts.
(11 AM) Houston Cougars -6 vs Texas Tech.
Both teams are undefeated, but only one is for real. The Cougars defense has looked impressive at Arizona and nearly perfect vs Rice. Texas Tech won a shootout vs Arizona State and played Eastern Washington. This will be high scoring contest but the Cougars can get the stops to win by 7 or more.
(8:30 AM London) Jaguars +4 vs Baltimore
This defense has play makers everywhere. If Bortles can play half way decent and keep them in it. They can sneak out of London with an easy cover verse a slightly overrated defense in the Ravens.
(12pm) New York Giants +6 at Philadelphia
Everyone has given up on the Gmen, Not Me. Beckham is finally healthy, Marshall might now feel comfortable. Engram the rookie looks good. Oh and they have a top notch Defense still. Janoris Jenkins will likely be out again for their secondary. So the Eagles could still win, but 6 is a lot of points.
(12pm) Chicago Bears +7.5 vs Pittsburgh
Anytime Big Ben has to go on the road he never looks right. Pitt’s D is better. I also expect a big day out of Le’Veon Bell but John Fox knows how to lose by less than 7. The ginger giraffe Glennon should do just enough to silence the Mitch! Mitch! chants. Maybe a late score by Cohen, followed by a missed 2 point conversion to lose this one. Bears still 0-3.
Vegas Has Em Wrong
(3pm) Seahawks +3 at Tennessee
Every year Russell starts out cold. This year is no different. Their offense looks borderline pathetic especially that O-line. The good news Chris Carson is legit, defense still good if not great, and the Titans have an injured Murray and Corey Davis. Russell pulls out the straight up win late.
(3pm) Chiefs -3.5 at Los Angeles
The city doesn’t want the Chargers nor do I. The chiefs are clicking on all phases including coaching. Kareem Hunt is electric and the match up for Travis Kelce is insane. Can we say Route City? Chiefs solidify their spot in the power rankings with an easy win.
